Slowly but surely or Out with the old because we don't want to move it.

We are lucky that we didn't have to move right when we closed on our new home. We're taking this opportunity to clean out and not move 'junk' to the new location. That being said, it is hard work to clean and throw out while moving too.

Add on to all of that another stupid snow storm! I had just chipped and shoveled all of the snow and thick ice off of our deck when we got hit again! I just shoveled it all off again yesterday afternoon and enough snow has fallen to give it a light coating.

Enough already!

I took the dog for a walk yesterday in the woods behind our home. I found clearly marked walking trails and had a blast. I found a stream and what looks like a small pond that will for sure give us the music of peeper frogs this Spring!

Walking on the wild side or Hey! They look so real!

We were driving home to our new home the other night and the sun was just starting to set. We drove by a neighbors yard when PW remarked on the deer statues that they must have put up while we were gone...

...then five or six whitetail deer turned tailed and hopped off into the woods.

Moving on up or Time to pack!

We closed on a new home a couple of days ago and have started the tasks associated with moving. The plus side is that we don't have our existing home on the market yet so we can take time with moving. That way we can clean and organize at the same time and only move stuff we really want to keep.

Our new home is amazing...Central air, gas fireplace, awesome floor plan, and a master bedroom suite that includes a walk-in closet and our own bathroom!

Some Enchanted Evening or Spending time in Maui.

The sales team that I'm part of did 232% of quota last year and so we received an award trip (along with around 500 people total) to Maui! PW and I went on March 1st and returned on a red-eye that got us home at 7am on March 10th.

The company part of the trip ended on March 5th and we then got a rental car and moved down the beach to a different hotel. We started at the Grand Wailea Resort and Spa and then ended the trip at the Marriot Resort and Spa, both on Wailea Beach.

We did some snorkeling, sailing, I did scuba diving, spa treatments, and lots of soaking in the sun. We drove to the top of a 10,023 foot volcano and tasted wine made from pineapples during our time there.

The last evening during the company part of the trip had us attending a gala dinner which ended with a private concert featuring Melissa Ethridge. I only knew a couple of her songs but her live show is awesome! Also, as a way of helping us remembering our trip the company gave us all a gift. All the servers came out with Tiffany boxes piled high on platters...the women all got a sterling silver bracelet and men got sterling silver pens.

It was an awesome vacation but I'm still not used to the time difference back in this direction.

Oh, one other plus, I had enough frequent flyer miles to upgrade us both (round trip) to first class. It made the travel much more bearable especially when you're spending around 10-12 hours in a plane.
