We're going green or When two become one.

We traded in the X-Terra and Versa in order to purchase a 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV.

The X-Terra gets ok gas mileage when gas is selling for around $1.25/gallon. When prices get over $3.00/gallon it becomes an exercise in fiscal pain to fill the tank more than once a week.

The Versa got ok mileage but wasn't a practical car to fill with two adults, one kid, on teen, and a car seat.

So now we have a hybrid SUV that comes with a fold down third row and an average of 26MPG. I've driven it around town and the car makes no noise when it is running off of the battery. It makes it great on fuel economy when you are driving in stop and go traffic, in a parking lot, or in a downtown area when the speed limit is less than 25MPH.

Our new car also has heated seats, a good sound system, and Bluetooth capabilities for hands-free mobile phone use.

We're saving money on insurance, registering cars, and overall maintenance as well as the improved fuel economy we get with the new car, plus it is a hooked up car that runs great!
