Mary's Headstone

I drove into town to drop off something for one of the princesses at school and also got a drink at BNG.

On my way there I drove by the cemetery and noticed that they hadn't yet installed Beautiful Wife's headstone. I was disappointed since I was hoping it would be installed by Memorial Day. However, on the way back I looked and there it was...dark black and all but sucking the sunlight from the sky.

Driving into there and seeing her name engraved on the piece of granite was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

I know she's gone...but this was another piece of finality that I didn't know was going to be so emotionally difficult for me.

Sorry about the difficulty with the stark reminder. Sometimes it's the small stuff that gets you; apparently it's also the big. At any rate, be sure to cheer up the sunlight-sucking site with flowers or a picture of YBDs or YHS(in Paris or Prom Dresses). M would like that ... And I think you'll appreciate having a spot to talk with her in quiet times ...

Dad's in a plastic box somewhere in mum's house - in the middle of the hubbub ... I suppose he'd like it, but it's easy to forget where he is :)

Keep on hanging on ...
