First, the good news. I've had flooding before in the basement and in the room that connects the basement to the garage. The first one was solved by putting on gutters and getting the water to drain away from the foundation. The second was solved by digging a ditch at the front of the garage and giving the water a path around the side of the garage.
No flooding from this storm though many friends and family members have had a deluge in their yards and basements.
This photo is taken in the town where I get my coffee nearly every day. This little brook most times barely moves over and around the little rocks in its path.
Not today. This brook has become a raging torrent and claimed this hapless picnic table. A week ago this was a shaded spot and a nice place to take lunch on a warm Spring day. Now it is more suited to water rescue lessons.

No streams in my neighborhood. Just in the basement.
