Out for dinner or Date night.

Good Friend and I have gone out for dinner before and when we go to Portsmouth we can't help but feel like a couple. We usually end up dropping references to our wives just so people know, ya know?

Anyway, we went to 43 Degrees North and it was awesome.

I had a drink called Sazerac that I've never had before since I've never been much of a whisky drinker and that is the main ingredient. I enjoyed some duck spring rolls, an awesome salad, surf & turf which was ostrich and monk fish, and an incredible dessert.

It was nice to get out and be part of the non-cancer world for a while. It must sound selfish, but I needed that break.

It doesn't sound selfish at all, it sounds like you're doing the best thing for you and your family! You are afterall, the rock, and if there's one thing that any rock needs, it's some time away! Even just for dinner and drinks with a good friend!

You need time away sometimes and you totally deserve it.
Ostrich and monk fish? That's a crazy surf and turf!

glad you had such a great time :)

Not selfish at all. Totally necessary. But I thought ostriches related to sand - not turf/grass??

what if ostriches could fly?

Xianfern - Thanks!

Caroline - That's what I'm saying!

Pam - It was totally crazy, which is what appealed to me.

Christie - Yeah, it was a much needed break.

Grannyp - They mean 'turf' as in the area controlled by a gang...those ostriches can be tough!

Heidi - Then I would have had that in my springroll instead of duck!

I think even if you weren't dealing with all that is on your plate, you would deserve a break. Nothing selfish about it. If you do not take good care of yourself, how can you take excellent care of your family. I am not sure you should be out on a date....bwahahahaha just kidding.

Katy - LOL

Dawn - It actually is more like beef than poultry so I'd say it tastes like a nice steak. :)
