Summer corn or A great time of the year.

I love it when local corn-on-the-cob comes into season. We bought 18 ears yesterday and ate all of them. I'd rather make a meal of the corn than eat anything else. I don't roll it in butter, add salt, or even sprinkle it with pepper...I eat it plain.

This is only possible when it is fresh corn that is so sweet and tasty that you don't need anything else.

I love corn on the cob, but I prefer to at least slather it with butter. I really like KFC's because they load it with like a bucket of badness per 1/2 cob. Mmmmm.

I did a post about the corn whores...don't remember when but this is my favorite time of the year too! Right above the roasted pumpkin seeds. Love those too but no whore for pumpkins.

Oh yeah corn!!! Me and the girl had some from Emery Farm this evening. I was telling her this is the time of year to eat local corn as often and as much as you can because once the season is done you have to wait for next summer to come around.

One of my brothers eats his bald, too. I need all the trimmings. Another brother taught me an awesome grilling recipe: soak the ears in water if you want, then pull the shucks back and remove all the silk, then wrap a slice or two of the cheapest bacon you can find around the ear, then place the shucks back into position and tie it closed with butcher's twine. Grill over low/med heat for about 1/2 hour. THIS i can take without any trimmings!

Mmmmmmmm Bob, now you've made me hungry too! You certainly know how to give a girl an appetite....

Dawn - I've had that corn too...they pull it from a pot where it basically floats in butter, eh?

Kari - Corn whores rule!

Pam - We get ours at Teecees in Durham, but Emery Farm has good corn too.

Jim - Sounds like that would be yummy. I'll have to try that next time around.

Karen - If you eat it nekkid you have to be careful about where you splatter. ;)

Antipo - If I had nickel for every time I heard that. ;)
