I was reading Good Friend's blog about his feelings regarding DSL and Comcast in general.
We're pretty much thrilled, so far, with DirecTV. The picture quality is much better though I had Digital Cable before. The sound is amazingly different. I would watch some channels and had to turn the sound nearly all the way up in order to hear what was being said. The sound seems to respond at more normal levels now and the quality, again, seems better.
As for DSL...we can't get it here. The only other option is to get high speed through our satellite but it costs around $500 to get it installed and then it is $59/month after that. I wonder if the install is less if you already have a dish in place...
I'm not sure how they think they'll lure anyone away from traditional broadband at those prices. They must offer that access for the person in the middle of nowhere that has no other options.

That's what keeps me from installing a dish. No DSL.
