Son left home nearly a year ago and started off with college room-mates and now lives with his girlfriend in a house with some other housemates.
Oldest Daughter heads off to college in around a week and will be living in the dorms.
It just seems strange to have half of our kids out on their own. The ones at home consist of one that has a license and the other is a teenager too. We're becoming more a stop for money on their way out the door instead of the total guiding force in their lives.
Only a couple more years of field hockey for one...this is the last year of youth soccer for the other...
We've had a challenging year but I think our biggest challenge is still to come...what to do with all the spare time and money that we'll have when our home is finally empty. LOL

Posted by: kari on August 18, 2005 09:31 AMMs. Mac - I know what you mean...it helps when they reach the ages of my kids because you can go out without incurring the cost of a baby-sitter!
Kari - Just never seems to be much extra money, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. As for the sex, woohoo is right!

I am quite looking forward to those days when it is just the husband and me again. While I adore my lovely boys and wish their childhood to go on for ever the two of us can have such fun when it's just us!
