Another one's done or Only one left!

Middle Daughter go her driver's license today. She finished driver's ed on Wednesday, did some last minute practicing yesterday, and passed the written and practical tests today.

We got to the Department of Motor Vehicles at around 11am but they told us that the road tests weren't going to resume until 1:15pm. That means MD got to take her written test (missed one) and then hang around for almost two hours waiting for the driving test to take place.

We went to the store in order to buy some batteries and for a bathroom break since the DMV, something I pay tax dollars to build and support, doesn't have public bathrooms. What's up with that?

We got back and she was third in line for the test. The first girl to go after the break came back and had failed her test. We didn't hear why but it certainly didn't calm MD's nerves at all!

She was relieved when she passed and now the only problem is wondering how many times I'll have to hear her lament about the picture on her license.

Those pictures are horrible. Is it scary when they start to drive? I can't imagine. And then they want YOUR keys. That would make me a wreck!
I think it was you who posted on Marisol's site. I read the whole Goodkind Sword of Truth series too. Loved it. My husband got me hooked on a lot of that fantasy stuff. There's a father/daughter writing team too...they do good stuff but I cannot remember their names right now.

David and Leigh Eddings. I knew I'd remember as soon as I navigated away from this page.

Hey! Congrats on the D.L. Now you have another errand girl to run to the store for you! At least that's what I plan on doing in a few years. =)

Hey again. I opened a Pinot Noir tonight. It has to breathe for at least thirty minutes. Willamette Valley Vineyards. Whole cluster fermented whatever that means, but I've heard it's good.

I'll let you know. It's pretty young '04 but it was recommended so...

Kari - it is scary when they start driving but since this is my third time going through it I'm doing ok. :) Yep, that was me on Marisol's site. Thanks for the tip about the Eddings. I'll keep my eyes peeled next time I'm in the store.

Laurenbove - You definitely have to get them running errands while they're still thrilled about having the license. I'd like to know about the wine for sure. I'm always looking for a nice pinot.
