Feeling a little dirty or When Spring starts springing.

More bare ground is exposed by the minute it seems. The snow is dirty and tired looking. The ground is muddy and devoid of any color. It is the dreary/drab time of the year that isn't fixed until all of the snow is gone and the first crocus and daffodils poke their heads above the ground.

I wonder when the peeper frogs will be back...

I think you should post some pictures and see how pretty Deirdre thinks snow is now.

my muddy lunchtime walk included a mention about the peepers! i agree with kreblog, there ought to be some sort of festival. we already got groundhog day, and 'running of the grunion' celebrations...why not Peeper day or Peeper Week. Throw a party and invite all your peeps.

They have a peeper road race in Barrington, NH which is the next town over from me.

I agree about having a party with all of your peeps. You'd have to just make sure it doesn't happen too close to Cinco de Mayo so we have recovery time.

What would be the drink of choice at a Peeper Party?

I'll post some dirty snow pictures this weekend.

Oh sure start another holiday... next thing you know it'll be all comcercialized. The Peeper Frog will be at the mall and on Peeper Night he'll bring all the kids little sticks of brightly colored beef jerky.

Peeper frogs are annoying and I wish there was a way to shut them all up!
