A friend of ours finished chemo a couple of months ago. She stopped by last night with a meal for us and to visit for a couple of minutes.
Mary has been through one cycle and has three to go. Our friend said that she didn't feel like she was going to make it through the process until she finished her third cycle.
We talked about the unrealistic expectations that some people have about the treatments and how things are going.
I said, "Let me be the one that tells you what the silver lining is."
Our Friend said, "YES! That is exactly what I mean!"

Bob, is there anything us commenters can do to help? I've just dipped through your archives and have a bit of an idea now what's going on for you and Beautiful Wife, and it can't be easy (which might be the understatement of the millenium). Do you need sympathy, or distraction, or just plain old comments whatever-they-might-be? And I hope this isn't an embarrassing question. In my defence, let me say I'm Australian, and we're EXPECTED to be embarrassing wherever we go... (laughing)
