I slept in our bed for the first time last night since Beautiful Wife came home from her surgery, over seven weeks ago. I've been sleeping on the downstairs couch with only Fizban keeping me periodic company.
Buddy, the cat that barely tolerates my presence, looked like he was deeply offended this morning as he glared at me from the safety of the other side of BW's body. He's had her all to himself during this time and has actually even gotten used to me petting him on the way in and out of the room. Obviously, he assumed he "won" and that I had retreated to the couch downstairs so he was gracious in victory.
I went to move my arm from under the covers and he fled in terror. I had to be the one that gave him medicine right after we got him and he's never gotten over it.
It was hard to sleep at first since I feared that I'd disturb her or accidentally bump her when I rolled over.
Plus...I was on the wrong side of the bed...
